    Take part in a summer camp - either locally (a few hours to full day) or an overnight. Camps are a great opportunity to elevate your skills and make new friends. Many programs bring in top ultimate players as coaches.

    Drop into pickup to practice skills through fun, casual games. Most welcome high schoolers; some are better suited for middle schoolers. Contact organizers to find a good fit. Pickups are informal.

  • SCHOOL TEAMS

    SCHOOL TEAMS

    School teams exists either within a school’s structure or alongside it as a stand-alone entity. Affiliated school teams allow athletes who live in the surrounding area of a school to join. Teams practice, scrimmage and compete in tournaments; play in state championships; try to qualify for the High School National Invite (HSNI) in June. See list of school teams.

    REC TEAMS

    Ultimate frisbee activities are available through recreational organizations in Broadneck‍, Montgomery County / WAFC and Towson. In addition to open leagues and clinics, some organizations form teams that compete in scrimmages and local tournaments. Contact your local rec organization or Maryland’s Youth Competition Coordinator to learn more.

  • CLUB TEAMS

    CLUB TEAMS

    Club teams offer more competitive play with tryouts typically starting in March. Three DMV organizations - CMUA, WAFC and Fairfax practice all summer and send teams in August to YCCs, USA Ultimate’s premier Youth Club Championships event for U17 and U20 - girls, boys and mixed teams. Other club teams practice and compete throughout the school year. See list of club teams.

    The local college ultimate scene is hot. There is a fall and spring season with a national championship event in May. Looking to play ultimate in college and want to learn more? Find their socials and reach out. Teams are eager to welcome new players and join a practice.

    The adult club season runs June - October. Teams across the DMV are competitive and consistently qualify for national championship games. Some players go on to represent USA in international competitions. Many games are streamed online and fun to watch as a family. Check out UltiWorld.

  • SEMI-PRO TEAMS

    SEMI-PRO TEAMS

    There are two semi-pro teams in our region — DC Breeze and DC Shadow. The season runs April - July with low cost tickets and home games at Catholic University. You’ll often see youth ultimate teams selling baked goods or joining in a halftime activity. Go out to a game - it’s fun for all ages!
